Ereğli ve çevresinde en önemli el sanatları arasında halı, kilim, yastık yüzü, heybe, çanta, sumat görülmektedir. Ayrıca Sümerbank Dokuma Sanayii kurulmadan önce yöresel tezgahlarda peşkir, sofra bezi, kaput bezi dokumacılığı yapılmıştır. Istarda dokunacak halı ve kilimlerin ipleri kök boyadır. Bölgenin halıcılığı oldukça eski ve ünlüdür. Konya Salnamesinde övgü ile bahsedilmektedir. Halıcılıkta kaliteyi yakalayan bölgede genellikle hataplı, mihraplı, madalyonlu halılar Türk-Gördes düğümü ile dokunmaktadır.

It is mentioned by praise in the year book of Konya. In the region where the quality gotton at carpet trade, carpets with mihrap hatap, locket are usually weaved by the knot of Türk Gördes.
