Bu sanatın kökleri antik çağa kadar uzanmaktadır. Yöreye ait ahşap işçilik örnekleri mimari yapı birimlerinde işlevsel taşıyıcı ve bezeme öğesi olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Bu ahşap bezeme örneklerinde ceviz, çam, ardıç ve abanoz ağaçları kullanılmıştır. Bu örnekleri şöyle sıralayabiliriz; Asma, kabartma, armut. Eserlerin çoğunda geometrik ve bitkisel motiflerin bir araya getirilmesi sonucu kompozisyon oluşturulmuştur. Buna en güzel örnek yöre meyvelerini içeren, asma yaprağı, armut ve kayısı motifli bereketi simgeleyen tavan göbeğidir.
The origion of this art bases on the archaic time. The samplesof wood handicraft belonging to region is started as the element of arnamentation and functational carrier in the unit of architecture structure. Wallnut, pine, black pine, juniper and ebony trees were used in these samples of wood ornamentation. A composition formed as a result of connecting the vegetal and geometric motifs in many work. The best sample to this is grape leaf, pear, apricot motifs, are consist of the local fruits and central design of ceiling that symbolizes abundance.
