Connected to province of Konya, leant its back against Aydos Mountains, Ereğli history that has fertile lands with Ivriz Fountain goes back to the earlier times in historical period. Its position, rich potantial of mines specializes this place as the otupost of top cultures since the the early ages of history of mankind. Furthermore, Ereğli located at Lykonia, Clicia and Cappadocia triangle's advance point, raised its significant because it's also located where the Ereğli ancient roads combined.

Ereğli's history is supposed to  start from the Neolithic Age (B.C 7000-5000). It's obvious that the name of city renamed Herakleion because of Herakleios constructed many buildings in this city. That's not proven that the name of Herakleios is related to the God Herakles in Mitology. Ereğli was more protected at that age. The reason why the extension of Arabian attacks.
